More importantly, however, please check your emails and plan to attend the mandatory meeting on Saturday, November 24th for all Bridge Youth and parents at 1pm. If you are unable to attend please let Tom or Rich or I know ASAP. If you have any questions please feel free to contact any of us.

What is the Meaning of Life?
Hi everybody!
This Friday night, November 9th, is The Gathering Place at The Bridge, 7-10 pm.
We have some important scheduling announcements to discuss, and are going to be talking about the very important topic of vision casting for the group. This is your chance to have your thoughts, opinions and voice heard re: the direction of our group, its role, purpose and function. I want to talk openly and honestly about what you need, where you see us going, and how we might think about getting there.
Lastly, we're going to play a philosophical game that I like to call "What's the Meaning of Life?"
Please join us!

Confusion No More!
There seems to be some confusion related to dates for The Gathering Place. Please see the post "Let's Communicate" for a list of meeting dates that takes us through the end of the year.
I'm trying to keep communication open via this blog so that anyone and everyone can check in on things...
Speaking of which, we started working on a skit / drama to the Lifehouse song "Everything". It started great, but if we're going to make it work I've got to see some participation. Our next meeting is NEXT Friday, the 26th...So I know you've all got lots of homework but please plan to be there so we can talk through the next couple of months.
Love to all !!

Being Well-Rounded
Today's breakfast bite comes from John 4:36-38
Jessica is filling out college and scholarship applications. Many of these talk about being a well-rounded student - not only academically successful but also community oriented.
In an age where everything is specialized, it's good to remember to be well-rounded. This scripture in John indicates that at different times in our lives we will have different jobs to do - sometimes we'll plant, sometimes we'll water, and sometimes we'll harvest. We need to be skilled in all the different facets of love and life and relationships in order to work effectively in the kingdom.
God is looking for people who can play the infield and the outfield. It's ok to be specialized, as long as you don't lose your versatility.
Grace for your day, and remember there's no Gathering Place this friday (Oct. 12). We'll meet again in 2 weeks!
"The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike! You know the saying, 'One plants and another harvests' and it's true. I sent you to harvest where you didn't plant; others had already done the work and now you will get to gather the harvest."
